Owlmakers ("the developer") operates Tunefork ("the app"), which measures the pitch of your instrument to help you tune it and provides a metronome. It is an on-device app with no account and no cloud.

Summary
· The microphone is used only to calculate pitch; nothing is recorded or transmitted.
· There is no account or sign-in, so no personally identifying information is collected or stored. The only thing sent to a developer server is the anonymous usage statistics in section 1 below.
· Advertising (Google AdMob) may use device identifiers. There is no payment, subscription or account.

1. Information we do not collect / our own usage statistics

The app does not collect personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, phone number or postal address. There is no sign-up.

To check that the app is working in real use, the developer sends anonymous usage statistics (including country and region) to its own server (api.owlmakers.com, over HTTPS).

What is sent: app name, version and display language; screen views and actions such as tuning or using the metronome; an "in use" signal; and a random value created fresh on every launch (never stored, so it identifies neither you nor your device).
The server records only the country, region and city name of the connection. IP addresses are not stored, and no precise location is received. Microphone input and pitch values are not sent here either (see section 2).
Data is kept for one year and is not shared with third parties.

2. Microphone — nothing is recorded

The app uses the microphone permission (RECORD_AUDIO) to work out the pitch of your instrument.

Microphone input is used only for pitch calculation and is discarded immediately afterwards.
No recording is created, nothing is stored on your device, and nothing is transmitted anywhere.
All analysis happens on your device.
The app stops using the microphone as soon as you leave the tuning screen or send the app to the background.

3. Settings stored on your device

Your chosen instrument, reference pitch, metronome settings, language and theme are stored locally for convenience. These values never leave your device and are removed when you uninstall the app.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app shows Google AdMob advertising so it can be used for free. AdMob may collect device identifiers such as the Advertising ID in order to serve ads. This processing is carried out by Google; the developer neither collects nor stores that information.

Ad content is restricted to a family-safe (G) rating.

5. Children's privacy

The app is not directed primarily at children under 14. Because instrument practice apps are often used with children present, ad content is restricted as described above.
