Stampshot Privacy Policy

Owlmakers ("the developer") operates Stampshot ("the app"), a camera that writes the date and time onto your photos.

The developer collects no personally identifying data. There is no account, no sign-up and no login. Your photos, your location and your settings stay on your device. The only thing sent to a developer server is the anonymous usage statistics in section 2b.

About location — if you turn the location stamp on, the app reads your device's last known position and writes it onto the photo. Those coordinates are never transmitted to the developer. If you also enable the address line, the coordinates are passed to the address lookup service provided by the Android operating system (Google). Declining the location permission leaves every other feature — shooting and saving included — fully working.

2. Third-party services

Google AdMob (advertising)

To show ads, Google may collect your Advertising ID along with basic device and app information. Google is the party collecting and using that data; the developer does not receive it. Ad content rating is limited to General audiences (G). See the Google advertising policy. You can reset or opt out of ad personalisation in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads).

2b. Our own usage statistics (Owlmakers)

To check that the app is working in real use, the developer sends anonymous usage statistics (including country and region) to its own server (api.owlmakers.com, over HTTPS).

What is sent: app name, version and display language; screen views and actions such as choosing a shooting mode; an "in use" signal; and a random value created fresh on every launch (never stored, so it identifies neither you nor your device).
The server records only the country, region and city name of the connection. IP addresses are not stored, and no precise location is received. Your photos and any location/address stamped onto them are not sent here.
Data is kept for one year and is not shared with third parties.

3. Permissions

The app never asks for permissions on first launch. It asks at the moment a feature actually needs one.

4. Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children under 14 and does not knowingly collect data from children.

5. Retention and deletion

Because the developer holds no personally identifying data, there is no deletion request procedure. Settings stored on your device are removed when you uninstall the app, and photos can be deleted from your gallery, or several at once from the app's library screen. (The only thing kept on the developer's server is the anonymous usage statistics in section 2b, deleted automatically after one year.)
