Owlmakers ("the developer") respects the privacy of everyone who uses Data Usage ("the app").
This policy explains how the app handles information.
1. Data usage history — it stays on this device
To show WiFi, mobile and tethering data usage and per-app usage, the app uses Android's
Usage access (usage statistics) permission, which you turn on yourself in system settings.
Usage numbers and the app list are calculated and shown only on your device and are never sent to the developer's servers or to third parties.
The list of apps you exclude from stats and your plan limit and start date are also stored only on the device.
2. Location permission — used only to read WiFi names
Android requires location permission to show the connected WiFi name and nearby WiFi networks.
The app uses location permission only to show WiFi names and nearby networks.
It does not read, store or send your location coordinates.
The app works without location permission; only WiFi names and nearby networks are hidden.
3. Information stored on the device
The following is stored only on your device and is not sent anywhere.

Uninstalling the app deletes this information.
4. Internet speed test — M-Lab
The speed test contacts M-Lab (Measurement Lab, a non-profit internet measurement project) public servers
only when you tap Start.
During a test, M-Lab receives your IP address and the measurements (speed, latency, etc.), which become part
of M-Lab's public research data under M-Lab's policy. The test screen explains this as well.
Ad personalization: Device Settings → Google → Ads.
Users in the EEA and the UK see an ad consent (UMP) dialog on first launch.
6. Usage statistics — anonymous, to improve the app
The app collects anonymous usage statistics to learn which features are actually used.
Google Analytics for Firebase — app activity such as which screens were opened, and an app instance ID
randomly assigned per install. Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Developer's live usage counter — app version, display language, a random identifier created for each launch,
and screen/feature events are sent to the developer's server (api.owlmakers.com) to count live usage.
Never sent — data usage numbers, per-app usage, WiFi names, location, or anything that identifies you such as
name, email or phone number. The random identifier is not linked to any person.
7. Notifications
The ongoing notification (current speed, today's usage) and limit alerts are created on the device.
You can turn notifications off in settings.
8. Children
The app is not directed at children under 14 and does not knowingly collect children's personal information.
9. Your rights
The app has no accounts or sign-up, so the developer keeps no personal information about you.
You can delete everything on the device at any time by uninstalling the app.
